I am a Psychotherapist in advanced clinical training at The Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy. I am a member of UKATA and MIP with a pending membership with BACP.
Previously I have worked supportively with people with Mental Health, Sex Offenders and drug and alcohol addiction. More recently I have lectured in the Mechanical Trades whilst also offering reflective support to students with resistance to formal learning.
I am very interested in ideas, thoughts and feelings around attachments to places, people and things. Ideas of belonging and home also greatly interest me. Of how part of us can become stuck in a moment in time.
I came to therapy myself many years ago after resisting an arranged marriage and consequently loosing my place within a community.
For many years alongside my general work and study I competed in Bodybuilding and Strength Sports. Consequently I have gained experiential knowledge of the connection between our bodies, their functions and our hidden beliefs about ourselves.
It’s important for me to work relationally, to use the now to explore the past and bring lightness and light to unhappy burdens. I offer a safe, confidential and supportive environment. I am happy to work with anybody who is willing to begin their journey of self discovery.
