This exciting new five day course, will be experiential in nature exploring the issues that affect young people aged 8 and upwards, which have an impact on their social and emotional well-being. The central theme throughout will be the relationship between the young person and those working with them. We will explore the practical application of various theories, using live examples. This will enable you to take this work back into your various settings, and provide a ‘tool box’ of resources, techniques and effective ways of relating to children and young people, in conjunction with interesting theory, so you feel empowered, supported and confident in your important work. The course will be underpinned by the legal, ethical and professional framework.
This course is suitable for those working with children and adolescents, qualified or unqualified counsellors and psychotherapists, and those working within the statutory social care sector, voluntary/charitable sector, schools especially those responsible for pastoral support, teachers etc.
