I am a children & young people’s therapist offering support for 6-18 year olds.
I have worked as a children & young people counsellor/therapist for the last twelve years in various settings including primary schools, secondary schools, within NHS and in my own private practice. I offer long-term and brief interventions providing therapeutic support for a wide and varied range of issues. The service I offer is a flexible one to best suit the needs of the client as everyone is different, this is to ensure we achieve the best therapeutic outcomes for each client.
Counselling gives a young person the opportunity to talk about how they feel without the fear of judgement, speaking to a counsellor away from their home or school life can take away some of the pressure. Counselling offers a safe environment for young people to express their feelings and understand what may have caused them to feel this way.
The methods used in sessions will depend on the clients age, situation and development, in addition to talking therapy a mixture of creative and CBT approaches may be adopted (whichever is felt to be the most effective).
