TERMS OF REFERENCE
The focus of the Members Committee will be to embrace the wellbeing of MIP members, and to ensure it meets all legal and statutory obligations.
A further purpose of this Committee is to look at, explore and feedback to MIP present and possible benefits for members of all levels within the MIP psychotherapy structure.
Responsibilities:
1. To work closely with the administration of MIP including the Co-ordinator of Training and Trainers with regards to membership benefits.
2. To consider the possibility of a Members Benefits Manual which will outline membership benefits and obligations and henceforth be published on the MIP website, as well as distributed to all individual members of the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy. This manual will be reviewed every 18 months.
3. Thirdly, all ideas, thoughts and documentation need to be fed back to the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy Trainers and Directors for approval.
4. The Chair of this Committee will need to submit a short annual report at the time of the MIP AGM.
Membership:
The Committee will have a minimum of 3 members and maximum 6 members. Membership should be drawn from the general membership of MIP. If possible, the members should represent different categories of membership of MIP.
The Chair should be in place no longer than 3 years and the AGM will then elect a new Chair.
There needs to be a quorum of 2 members for the Committee to meet.
A consensus decision-making process will normally be followed.
Timeframe:
The Committee should meet at least 3 times a year.
The duration time of the Committee will be determined by the specific committee, e.g. 1 to 2 hours.
The Committee may meet online or at MIP, whichever is suitable for the group.
