I am an experienced empathic and relational psychotherapist with a long history of working with others in a supportive capacity. For many years I worked as a Residential Social Worker. The client groups I worked with included mental health, drug & alcohol, addiction, compulsive behaviours, sex offenders, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, low self-esteem, relationship issues, loss of direction in life, self abuse and so on.
Currently I am undertaking a specialism is Psychosexual Therapies, I also work therapeutically with the LGBT Foundation.
In addition to therapeutic work I also competed nationally and internationally as a Bodybuilder and strength athlete. Until recently I continued to work in the sports arena as a UKBFF/PCA/IPFA Judge. I am mindful of the ways in which healthy lifestyle choices can be overlooked by individuals who do not have the internal resources to recognise the full range of options available to them. Further there are many ways in which people struggle to accept success and sabotage their own success. You may find it difficult to be seen or carry authority.
The service I offer is flexible and will be tailored to meet your need, whether that be depression, lack of self esteem, anger management, shame, relationship issues, substance misuse and self harm, eating disorders, sexual abuse, body dysmorphia, psychosexual concerns and so on. Regardless of your presenting issue I will support and facilitate your journey towards becoming a better version of yourself.
I understand and value the experience of the client and so I am always keen to ensure treatment plans are developed within your awareness with your clear understanding, commitment and acceptance. Through developing mindfulness and ownership I would invite the growth of your confidence and motivation in becoming a co-constructor of the therapy process.
I am happy to work with individuals and also couples, polyamorous units and groups. Please speak to me directly about groups as the groups I run can vary in their remit.
