It is a great pleasure to be working at the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy, and being able to assist those seeking support through some of life’s problems.
I provide counseling and psychotherapy and am registered with the UKCP as well as the British Psychological Society. I am a qualified teacher, too. I have spent much of my professional life teaching young people and, as a trainer, with workers in the public services.
As a therapist, my particular interests are beginning, adapting and ending. I help with dealing the stresses of a new job, a new place or changed circumstances, moving from one ‘culture’ to another (country, college, work or family), perhaps dealing with anxiety or strong emotions in current life or from the past, or helping you take control of your own life. I have worked with the results of trauma and abuse as well as bereavement and loss.
I work also in relationship counselling, supporting couples through times of difficulty and helping them understand each other. I am also a member of the National Fertility Society, working with couples through some of the difficulties around fertility.
I bring respect and warmth into the room at the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy.
